Anger Management

Whether you are seeking help controlling those out of control impulses, or you have been court ordered to attend anger management classes, Starlight Counseling has a program to fit your needs. With Certified Anger Management Specialists on staff we have  the specialized training necessary to tailor anger management classes to your individual needs. Many of the concepts you will learn apply directly to your everyday life and relationships.

Starlight offers groups, evaluations, seminars, classes and individual sessions to meet the needs of people struggling with anger. 

We utilize an anger management program developed by The Anger Management Institute which provides an evidence-based approach to training individuals in effective methods of managing anger. The Anger Management Institute training programs have been approved and endorsed by the National Anger Management Association (NAMA) and have been utilized and accepted by courts in all 50 states.
 
 
We provide letters of enrollment and certificates of completion for individuals required to attend the anger management groups or sessions.
 
The premise of the books, DVDs, programs and courses demonstrate that anger - though often destructive - is a normal emotion and energy which can be transformed into productive behaviors achieving healthy personal and relationship goals.

​Classes 

Court ordered and voluntary educational program. Our program is nationally recognized and has been accepted by courts nationwide. Each of our classes is led by a Certified Anger Management Specialist.

We offer two formats:

1.         Individual Class/Custom Group Class - Scheduling is based on your individual needs and is available on an hour by hour basis for those court ordered from 2 hours and above. Individual courses are tailored to your needs and go above and beyond typical educational materials by incorporating individual counseling in the anger management framework. 
2.         6, 12, or 16 Hour Group Class - Groups are offered based on current interest and needs of participants. Groups consist of 3 to 8 participants and begin after an initial screening process to ensure the safety of all participants. Anger Therapy

Classes can provide an educational level of anger management from a coaching perspective, where counseling takes a more nuanced and in depth approach. Anger Management Classes may not be appropriate for some individuals who may be referred for counseling services where a more in depth treatment plan can be developed and implemented at an individual level.

Counseling allows you to learn many of the anger management skills from our class combined with individual professional level counseling to reinforce the use of proper anger management in your daily life.

Counseling is a more flexible approach to anger management that works well for those seeking a deeper level of understanding than can be provided in the group class.
